A Tale of Two Ann(e) Tops
StandardHi everybody! I recently had to organize all of my sewing things and came across SOOOO many PDFs that I had completely forgot about. Before BlueGingerDoll dropped off the face of the sewing world, I purchased the Anne top. My other forgotten top is also called Ann, that has ruching on the sides, which I received for free through signing up for Style Arc emails…3 years ago. Keep reading for additional details!
Sewing for Others: McCalls 6465
StandardHello all! My Mother in Law asked if I can make a dress for her that she could wear to a wedding Memorial Day weekend. Of course I jumped at the opportunity since I want to learn how to sew for different body types. Read on for more pics and info.
Portland Rose Dress Revisited: McCalls 7351
StandardHello again! I had an amazing vacation in the Pacific Northwest but I have to say, two weeks is kind of a long time. After 9 days I was ready to come home to my kittens and sewing machine. I’m so happy that I was able to take pictures at the International Rose Test Garden! During our visit last April, I debuted my Portland Rose Dress with every intention of taking photos at the garden, forgetting the roses wouldn’t be in bloom. Needless to say, I’m excited to share these pics. Thanks as always to my awesome husband/photographer, Nicholas. You’re the best!
Black Tulle Circle Skirt
StandardI’m Still Here.
StandardThe sun has finally come out and I can take proper pictures of my latest projects! So exciting. It’s hard to be motivated when it’s dark and yucky outside.
I have been sewing a lot, just haven’t had the time to share my latest projects and patterns. My parents also got me a new sewing machine! It’s awesome. More on that later.
Anyway, I will see you all soon!
Can’t Get Enough of this Skirt
StandardSimplicity 2154 has become my go to pencil skirt. Not only is it very comfy to wear, it’s extremely easy to sew! I would definitely recommend this pattern for someone who is new to sewing.
Simplicity 2154 Pencil Skirt
StandardAnother instance in which I bought fabric and didn’t see what kind it was. Luckily it was a big scrap piece that was enough for this skirt. I really wish I knew what kind of fabric I used. All I know is that it was a nightmare to sew. Continue reading
Thrift Store Fabric Finds
StandardUsually I don’t wake up early for any sort of sale because I feel that it isn’t worth it to be caught in a crowd of crazy people looking to save a buck. In this situation though, I’m glad I did.
Jacket Tear Repair
StandardA friend of mine asked if I could make some minor repairs on one of his jackets and add a new patch as well. I’ve never done this sort of repair but I’m always willing to learn something new. I couldn’t say no. And look at all those pins! So interesting, especially the Star Trek insignia!!! I LOVE Star Trek.
