Hey everyone! Apologies for my long absence. Life gets in the way sometimes, but I’m back and ready to talk about the latest pattern I’ve sewn, The Pippi Pinafore. This is the third pattern (second review) I’ve sewn up from Jennifer Lauren Handmade and I’m very pleased with the result! Just a heads up, this pattern was given to me for reviewing purposes and all opinions are my own. That said, let’s jump on in!

A Tale of Two Ann(e) Tops
StandardHi everybody! I recently had to organize all of my sewing things and came across SOOOO many PDFs that I had completely forgot about. Before BlueGingerDoll dropped off the face of the sewing world, I purchased the Anne top. My other forgotten top is also called Ann, that has ruching on the sides, which I received for free through signing up for Style Arc emails…3 years ago. Â Keep reading for additional details!
Sewing for Others: McCalls 6465
StandardHello all! My Mother in Law asked if I can make a dress for her that she could wear to a wedding Memorial Day weekend. Of course I jumped at the opportunity since I want to learn how to sew for different body types. Read on for more pics and info.
A New Moxie Verity and Tilly and The Buttons Coco
StandardHello all! This is my second version of the Moxie Verity dress. My first was sleeveless with a split cowl neck and I loved how cozy it was. Of course I immediately had to make another, which I did…in December. I’m also going to share my Tilly and the Buttons Coco dress from Christmas. Read on for more info!
Gertie’s Sweetheart Knit Top…Again?
Standard…Yep! When you’ve got a good thing, you don’t let it go! This pattern is a real winner and it’s versatile, so I keep going back to it. ***I must be having deja vu because I thought I posted this in October! Well, I meant to.***
Verity by Moxie Patterns
StandardIt’s been a while! I’m not the best blogger but I enjoy it, so here I am:).Quite a while ago while browsing patterns on Craftsy, I stumbled upon The Verity Dress by Moxie patterns but unfortunately I was out of the size range. Not anymore! The extended sizes are XL-8X, which is awesome because it’s a great pattern that’s easy to sew.
Style Arc Samantha BlueGingerDoll Violet Mash-Up
StandardHello! More pics from my vacation, this time in Canada and a new dress that is soft and comfy! We visited the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which was a bit frightening but also very beautiful.
Simplicity Amazing Fit 1354
Standard
Y’all…this pattern is most definitely a NEVER AGAIN. My face says it all. The construction to a point was really straightforward until you get to the sleeves. Holy crap. How do you even make this dress?! I’ll still wear it because I adore the print but never again.
Simplicity 8096 Amazing Fit Alphabet Dress
StandardSince I made my shirtdress, I’ve been inspired to just “go for it” and step out of my knit comfort zone. I’m so glad that I did! Introducing my $5 dress made from a thrift store bed sheet and pillowcase.
McCalls 6696 Shirt Dress
StandardHappy Monday! For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to make this dress but have been too afraid of it because:
- It’s not a knit.
- There’s buttons AND a collar!
- It’s a dress, not a skirt.
Although it’s by no means perfect, I’m SO PROUD of myself for finishing the dress in a weekend and not giving up. It was a very frustrating experience but it has inspired me to keep trying!
